Two transgender women, S. Neya and S. Selvisanthosam were offered government jobs on Wednesday after appealing to the chief minister's special cell for grievances. 33-year-old Neya allegedly had been to many interviews in the private sector, but never gotten through. She finally received an appointment letter for the position lab assistant from the government. 33-year-old Selvisanthosam was the first one to graduate in her house, only to be abandoned by her family for her feminine side. She received a letter from CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami for the post of physiotherapist. Reportedly, both of them are positive and hopeful for the future.
At an international educators’ conference hosted by Microsoft, star treatment has reportedly been given to a teacher who taught MS office to school children using chalkboard as there was no working computer in the school where he was working in Ghana. Microsoft has mentioned on their website, “Microsoft is committed to providing a full computer lab with initial support and training to the school and is currently in discussions with the Ministry of Education in Ghana on the most effective way to deliver this”.
An auto driver named Muthuraj from Samiyar Thottam in Chennai has returned a bag with money to the woman who missed it. He dropped some passengers near Thousand Lights on Friday and returned home. He noticed a bag in his auto with Rs 14,500 cash, an ATM card among other things. He handed them over to the police commissioner’s office where they called the woman and returned the bag to her after confirming with Muthuraj.
Head constable, Bhupendra Tomar (57) of UP decided to put his duty over his family on February 23. The cop had received a duty call about a man severely injured and immediately got a call from his home with information that his 27-year-old daughter had died suddenly. Tomar did not hesitate and chose to rescue the injured man. Reportedly, Tomar explained that it is more important to save the alive ones than worry about the dead, however painful it may be. He was congratulated by the deputy inspector general (DIG) and senior superintendent of police of Saharanpur, UP for his dedication.
Poonam Todi, daughter of an auto driver in Dehradun has reportedly topped the Provincial Civil Services –Judicial exam. The topper was quoted as saying, “I have worked really hard for this. My family has supported me in every step. My father is an auto-driver but he never let financial constraints come in my way. I will perform my duties honestly.”

A woman named Elizabeth, who's suffering from hyper-lactation has been donating excess milk for over three years now and saving countless lives in the process. Elizabeth reportedly produces 1.75 gallons of breast milk a day, and jokingly calls herself a "mass milk producer". A video of her charitable act posted by 60 Second Docs has gone viral.
A video of a 25-year-old man, who claims to be the world’s strongest man, is widely shared on social media. Arbab Khizer Hayat, a resident of Mardan district in Pakistan, is dubbed as the country’s ‘hulk’. Reports suggest that Hayat can lift men single-handedly, pull up cars and stop a tractor with his bare hands. The man, at a towering height of over six feet, weighs a whopping 435 kgs. The ‘hulk’ eats 36 eggs for breakfast every day, apart from three kgs of meat and five litres of milk, and wants to enter the WWE competitions, reports added.
Chirag Arora, a National Defence Academy (NDA) cadet set an example to everyone after he carried his injured comrade on a 13.8 km cross-country race. After his junior, Devesh Joshi got injured, Chirag carried the man on his back for nearly 2.5 km so that he too will be able to complete the race. According to reports, the Kolayadu gram panchayat refuses to issue marriage certificates if the wedding goes against their efforts in improving the environment. Kolayadu intents to cut down plastic usage and hence, in November 2017, came up with an initiative called 'Malinyamillatha Mangalyam' (wedding without any waste). As per their rules, a document showing proof that the wedding was plastic free has to be attested so as to get a marriage certificate.
K Ponmanidevi, who retired as headmistress of a government school in Erode district in 1996 has reportedly donated an acre of land in Erode worth Rs.4 crore for the construction of government school buildings. In 2015, she had donated Rs.2 lakh for upgrading the Chithode government girls’ high school to a higher secondary school. The school authorities and the district administration have planned to conduct a function to honour K.Ponmanidevi in the presence of school education minister K A Sengottaiyan to honour her inspiring act of charity.
Madhavan Nair and Meenakshi Amma from Kerala just celebrated their 82nd marriage anniversary which coincided with Madhavan Nair’s 100th birthday. They have known each other since they were eight and got married in the year 1936. "During our times, nobody got married in temples like now, and young people never eloped! The weddings used to happen at the brides' house," said Madhavan Nair to TNM. The couple and their five children live in Kottayam, Kerala.
In Madhya Pradesh, Janardan Mishra, a BJP lawmaker heard about a clogged toilet in a local school and decided to help them, all by himself. Due to the clogged toilet, students were not able to use it and so Mishra took to making sure that the problem is solved and unclogged the toilet with his very own hands. In a video posted by him on Twitter, he can be seen bending over the toilet, removing the soil that obstructed the passage and poking the hole with a stick till water could flow through.
A ticket checker named Shashikant Chavan saved the life of a commuter as the latter tripped while boarding a moving train in Kalyan railway station in Mumbai. In the video of the incident, Chavan is seen pulling the man, who slipped and fell near the train, as the train is moving. Chavan later reportedly said that the passenger, Sandeep Sonkar, ignored the general coach as it was crowded and tried to board a reserved coach. Sunil Udasi, the public relations officer with the Central Railway said Chavan will be awarded.
A 35-year-old woman - Shital Maharajan, who runs her own academy for skydiving called Phoenix Skydiving has got the attention by doing the adventure spot while wearing a saree at Thailand's Skydiving Center in Pattaya. The woman holds six world records and 17 national records. The woman reportedly said that it’s a tribute to both her Maharashtrian culture and to women.
A video of a 8-year-old girl saving her younger brother from a charging cow in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district has gone viral on social media. Aarti was pushing around her 2-year-old brother Karthik in a toy car when a cow from nowhere ran charging at them. The video, captured on CCTV, shows the girl trying to save Karthik as the cow repeatedly attacks him. Then she is seen lifting him from the toy car and turning her back on the cow, risking her own life. Then a man emerges from the house and chases the cow away. However, the girl’s presence of mind and brave act had already saved the boy.
According to reports, a couple from Surat has been distributing 5,000 sanitary napkins every month for the past five years without any publicity and help. Following the release of the Bollywood film ‘Padman’, which addresses menstrual hygiene, the couple is now called the ‘Pad couple of Surat’. The couple, Meena and Atul Mehta, had also recently organised a screening of the film to make women know the importance of sanitary napkins.
In a video that was tweeted by the Western Railways, a mother and her son can be seen climbing down the staircase of the railway station to board a train. Even as the train started to move, the mother can be seen trying to board along with her son. An RPF, WR Constable Sunil Kumar Napa acted quickly and rescued the boy as he fell down. The scene was captured in the CCTV camera of the Naigaon station on February 2.

Aadhi, a little boy from Kannur got to meet with his hero, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan after a video of him went viral on social media. The boy can be seen in the video throwing a huge tantrum and his mother telling him that if he does this he cannot meet the CM. The video went viral on Facebook after his mother, Rasina Ranjith shared it and a few days later the boy got to meet the CM and their photo was shared by his mother.
