Actor Prakash Raj congratulated PM Modi on Twitter as the BJP is set to win the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. While PM Modi and BJP leaders, during the campaign, claimed that the party will sweep the elections with a majority, the Congress is set to win a large number of seats even as it is set to lose. Congratulating PM Modi, the actor asked, “but are you really happy…” Prakash Raj also listed several issues facing the country in his tweet.

EC’s important notice to RK Nagar voters

The Election Commission has asked all the voters in the RK Nagar constituency to bring their voter identity cards to the polling stations for voting. According to the EC, those who are not able to bring the voter IDs can produce the following credentials:
1.Passport
2.Driving License

5.PAN card
6.Smart Card issued by the Indian Chief Registrar under National Population Register

Disabled man humiliated by officials at Chennai Central! Here’s what happened

A 42-year-old man with cerebral palsy was allegedly mistreated by railway officials at Chennai central railway station when he submitted a request for parking space for disabled.Reports say, the disabled person lodged a complaint, following which an inquiry was issued. After assurances by police to look into the issue, the complaint was reportedly dropped.

EC makes major move for RK Nagar bypoll

The Election Commission has reportedly informed the Madras High Court that the polling in all poll-booths of RK Nagar constituency will go live on the webcast. 15 company of paramilitary forces have been deployed in the constituency to ensure that no disruptions take place during the polls. While DMK had demanded installation of CCTV cameras in the constituency, the EC submitted before the HC that all necessary actions are taken to hold a fair bypoll.

Techie run over by speeding vehicle meets tragic fate

A 26-year-old techie reportedly died after a speeding truck hit her two-wheeler on a flyover in Bengaluru, on Saturday evening. Reports say, the woman was returning from a beauty parlour when the speeding truck rammed into her vehicle and crushed her head despite wearing a half-helmet. The driver of the truck was reportedly taken into custody by police.

Shocking! Flight wing hits ladder in Chennai airport

A Chennai-Trichy Alliance Air flight was reportedly delayed by three hours after the wing of the flight hit a step ladder belonging to Indigo Airlines on Sunday morning. Reports say, forty-two passengers were waiting to board the aircraft scheduled to depart at 7.05am. Due to the mishap, passengers had to wait till the flight departed at 10.10am. Reports say, there was no damage to the aircraft.

Chennai man murdered in front of his house

A five-man gang reportedly murdered a man in front his house at Vyasarpadi in Chennai, on Friday. Reports say, Kannan was a close associate of late gangster ‘Vellai’ Ravi and a gang attacked him with sickles while he was returning home. Though he was rushed to the hospital immediately, he was declared dead on arrival. Police have reportedly arrested two suspects.

While BJP took an early lead, Congress which lagged in the beginning eventually caught up and is being a challenge to the ruling party. If Congress manages to win in the election, it will be a first for them in 20 years.

Audi or hospital Ambulance? Drunken man’s confusion leads to this

A businessman, who arrived at a corporate hospital in the wee hours of Sunday in his Audi returned home driving hospital ambulance, a Maruti Omni. He had reportedly traveled 13 km from the hospital to his home without any doubt. According to a report in the New Indian Express, the man was drunk and his driver returned the ambulance to the hospital at around 4:00 am and took back the Audi. Meanwhile, the hospital staff reached a nearby police patrol and informed about the missing vehicle. However, after getting their ambulance back, the hospital authority did not file any complaint.

Kolathur Robbery: Another accused arrested

According to media reports, one of the main accused in the Kolathur robbery case, Nathuram Jat has reportedly been arrested in Rajasthan on Sunday. Exclusive RK Nagar pre-poll survey results

According to the exclusive pre-poll survey by Behindwoods, sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran might secure a victory in the upcoming RK Nagar bypoll. The survey was conducted in Perambur, Tondiarpet, Korukkupet and Thiruvottiyur. A total of 1,794 RK Nagar residents gave their opinions on who they will support in the election. Dhinakaran led the pre-poll survey with a massive 41% of votes followed by AIADMK - 34.2%, DMK - 21.3%, Naam Thamilar - 2%, Other - 0.9%, BJP - 0.6% respectively.

Google to shut down this platform

Tech giant Google has reportedly announced that it will officially shut down its high-end smartphone augmented reality (AR) platform Project Tango. The platform will be shut on March 1, 2018. The move has been made in order to focus on the more mass market ARCore product. Project Tango was introduced in 2014 to bring AR to smartphones equipped with external 3D sensors to track motion and depth.
