Jio offers upto 10 GB free data on early recharge

Reliance Jio has reportedly announced a new plan for its Prime Members on Friday. Under the Prime offer scheme, Jio prime members can get upto 10GB free data if they recharge their account before April 1, 2017. If subscribers opt for Rs. 149 prepaid plan, they will get 1 GB free data along with the original 2 GB and Unlimited calls. Similarly under the Rs. 303 plan, Jio offers 5 GB of free data along with 28 GB data. In the Rs. 499, Rs. 999, Rs. 1999, Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 9,999 plans Jio is offering 10 GB of free data over and above the data originally on offer.

CIA hacked iPhone cannot be recovered: WiKiLeaks

WiKiLeaks reportedly released a report and revealed that a CIA hacked iPhone cannot be recovered by just resetting the device. According to reports, CIA rewrites a device's firmware in ways that would maintain a hacker's access even if a user resets a phone or computer to factory settings. CIA has been infecting the iPhone supply chain of its targets since at least 2008, added WiKiLeaks report.

180 Million Indians watch videos on phones: YouTube

Director of Online Partnerships and Development, YouTube David Powell reportedly said that almost 180 Million Indian watch YouTube videos on their phones alone.  "We're seeing more hunger for YouTube content across all genres. In 2016, we saw over 500 creators across India get over 100k subscribers", added Powell. "We will ramp up our efforts in creator community events across the country with a big focus on the south of India”, highlighted Powell.

According to reports, sources have said that technology and infrastructure for the wireless communication are ready and Airtel is conducting last minute testings. Nokia’s new models to be launched in 120 markets at the same time

Facebook to introduce messenger-like bubble texts comment section

Facebook is reportedly testing out bubble texts for its comments section similar to Messenger. The thread-like text bubbles will replace the current flat text layout. A Facebook spokesperson said that they are working to make Facebook a more visual and engaging place to have conversations and they are testing multiple design updates in News Feed, including a more conversational way to comment on posts.

How does WiFi work on airplanes?

Apple's iPhone 6s voted as best-selling smartphone in 2016

According to a report by financial services company IHS Markit, tech giant Apple’s iPhone 6s has been voted as the best-selling smartphone in 2016. Further, the company on its website added that iPhone 7 was the best seller in the fourth quarter alone, followed by iPhone 7 Plus. Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 ranked fifth and ninth, respectively, outperforming S6 and S6 Edge in terms of sales.

Airtel, Idea add 1.2 million subscribers in February each

India’s top telcos Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular have reportedly added nearly 1.2 million subscribers each in the month of February. According to reports, the data was released by the Cellular Operators Association of India. Notably, Vodafone has added around 7.9 Lakh subscribers in the same month.

Airtel to buy Tikona's 4G business for Rs 1,600 crore

Telecom giant Airtel has reportedly said that they will buy Indian Internet service provider Tikona’s 4G business for rs 1600 crore on Thursday. The deal includes the acquisition of Tikona's Broadband Wireless Access spectrum and 350 sites in five telecom circles. Airtel has planned to roll out high-speed 4G services on the newly acquired spectrum in the five circles immediately after they sign the deal. Notably, Airtel has been named as the fastest network in India.

LG launches Stylus 3 smartphone

LG on Thursday introduced the 'Stylus 3' smartphone in India. The Stylus 3 was first showcased at the CES 2017. As its name suggests, the Stylus 3 comes with a stylised 'stylus'. ISRO commissions two facilities at VSSC

ISRO has commissioned two facilities, a Hypersonic Wind Tunnel and Shock Tunnel at the Vikram Sarabhai Space research Centre in Thiruvananthapuram as part of its continuous and concerted efforts to minimize the cost of access to space. The one-meter Hypersonic Wind Tunnel and one meter Shock Tunnel have been established with a wide spectrum of simulation capabilities in terms of Mach number, Reynolds number and re-entry velocities.
