Matrimony broker threatens employees with dressing room video

According to reports, a Chennai-based matrimony service provider was arrested for allegedly recording his staff in the dressing room when they were changing clothes and blackmailing them with it. Reportedly, the accused K Kathiresan had recorded CCTV footages of his employees changing clothes, and went on to threaten the employees when they asked for salary dues to be paid. Meanwhile, Kathiresan was remanded to judicial custody and has been booked for sexual harassment under section 354.

Women and children protesting has become a fashion in TN: CM

Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday reportedly said involving women and children in protests has become a fashion in the state. Referring to the Tirupur incidence of a policeman slapping a woman participant at a protest, CM reportedly said, “I have already explained the Tirupur incident in detail. It has become a fashion for protesters to involve women and children. Police are doing their duty”. The comments came after Congress legislature party leader accused the government of not solving issues like anti-liquor protests and accused police of being insensitive to women and children in protests citing Tirupur incidence.

Delhi govt takes ‘redBus’ to court for listing illegal buses

The Delhi government has reportedly initiated legal proceedings against the online ticket booking platform ‘redBus’ for allegedly issuing tickets for buses which are running illegally in the national capital. A top official of the transport department said that a case has been registered against ‘redBus’ under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and its hearing is going on in a city court. ‘redBus’ has claimed that it is merely an intermediary and serves as a marketplace that connects bus operators and consumers.

TN govt to construct six new flyovers in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday reportedly announced that Highways Department would construct six new flyovers in Chennai. According to reports, the flyovers will be constructed in Madipakkam, Kundrathur, Madambakkam, Vadapalani, Mount Poonamallee Road and Korattur. Dutch PM Mark Rutte has gifted a bicycle to Indian PM Narendra Modi during the latter’s day-long visit to the Netherlands on Tuesday. Drunk driving cases decreased in Chennai: Report

According to a report by the Indian Express, the number of drunk driving cases in Chennai has come down by 20 percent. Notably, Tamil Nadu traffic police registered an average of 2,500 cases per month in January, February and March in Chennai. After SC banned liquor shops on the highway, the drunk driving cases in Chennai have reportedly come down to an average of around 1,900 cases.

Chennai MetroWater to reduce daily water supply

Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board is reportedly set to reduce the daily supply of water in the city. Govt to launch call centres for GST queries
